This film was fun and i enjoyed watching it i might even consider purchasing it. However, Shyamalan has lost his edge and Will Smith is asleep at the wheel the whole film "literally". Jaden, trying to not be his father and define himself as an actor he made mistakes but let's face he is a teenager. I think people need to give him more slack and realize he is a kid trying to discover himself. Out of 10, I give this file a 7. It kept me entertained and that was all I asked for.

What a waste of time. Felt like I was watching a father show off his son play "Mary Had a Little Lamb" on the piano. "Hey, son, play it with more emotion!" "Now play it with your left hand!" And then the son gets in a huff and Daddy says, "Ain't he cute!" This movie somehow overcame my great fondness for even horribly acted, plot-less post-Apocalyptic movies. I can deal with poor acting, lousy effects, simplistic plots and even preachy dialogue. What I can't stomach is when an actor or a director throws something out there thinking that because they've made decent movies in the past, people will just show up. That's what's fundamentally wrong with this bloated, soulless wasteland of a movie. The "talent" just showed up. The father and son pair seemed truly to be reading their lines. They shout them sometimes, sometimes try to show that they're really, really sad, sometimes that they're really angry or really determined, but it was just laughable. Fast forward through the trailers (supposedly the highlights of a film) and one can immediately see how strained are their performances.

The effects are decent and story is ok but I fell asleep several times. What's really bad is that Smith wrote this movie and M. Night shamalamadingdong directed this. I didn't think M. Night did too badly directing but you would think in the future they'd have better weapons than staffs with sharp bits on the end... If you have to choose between this and Oblivion go with oblivion an that means something since oblivion was predictable,at least it had action & Freeman in it.
