Waiting for the trilogy to come in theaters. I saw the first and second movie. How Steve Rogers became Captain America in the 1940's and 70+ years later trying to adjust to a different era. Also the fact that he found out his friend isn't dead.
OH MY... This was" The Best Show of all Time! I liked the moral which addressed some interesting yet pretty true things in the world today. Finally a good guy who ends up a hero, and worthy of the job! Two friends drift apart one scrawny, and short, who returns for for the most dangerous job of his life...his friend returns as the villain. In the end blood may not be thicker than water, but friendship is just when it's needed the most, and saves the day. Villain against hero? Who wins?
Good movie, let down by not having more battle sequences of him fighting Nazis How come they felt the need to invent villains more evil than the Nazis. Wouldn't it make more sense to just fight those guys?
Can't get enough of these marvel super hero movies. I absolutely love that Stanley Lee appears as a walk on character in every single Marvel movie. The superhero movies are extremely well done storyline and special effects. Character development is top notch. Watch each movie for itself as they come out then go back and watch them in order of release. be sure to include the special features and all the way through credits, it has featurette for lack of a better term that the all the movies together. We, did and all the sudden he can't wait for the next one.
Free Redbox Rental Was Too Much We used a coupon code to rent this movie for free. We paid way too much. Never in my life will I watch this movie again. I want that hour of my life back! I think the problem with most people that liked this movie was the fact that it was a Marvel movie. They saw superhero and became blind to the fact that it was shot mostly on a green screen and lacked in story or entertainment.
My favorite hero When I started out reading comics, I was all about who has the best power set...but as I grew up reading comics, Captain America slowly climbed his way to my favorite. As Thor said in Secret Wars, Cap is the man I would follow through the hates of Hel.
This film is the perfect adaptation of Marvel's Golden Age legend. Chris Evans turned out to be the one, after so many decades of thespian failures, born to play the Sentinel of Liberty with an astonishing accomplishment to make a blonde, blue-eyed patriotic Adonis on film both fascinating and endearing. With that actor being Marvel's answer to Christopher Reeve, Evans becomes the anchor for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's moral center that made him the star he deserved to be. While the story's climax is a bit flawed in logic that a simple added line could have been added to fix , the story is still a fun adventure that you owe it yourself to see.
AWESOME!!! People say this movie is stupid but I think this is the greatest superhero movie of all time. I think this is Awesome because it isn't a modern-day superhero movie. While other people like Iron Man are using advance weaponry of his time to become a superhero, Captain America uses what tools he already has. AKA Caps Shield. The Super-Soldier and his Vibranium circled Shield wage war against the Nazi's and a man with a literal skull that is fully red! Who wouldn't want to watch this movie!
Captain America first movie I'm gone right from the first one and from the next one I want to make the 2001 I don't know what to say? But the second one that real stupid question mark I don't see him do much act anymore maybe shame of this movie like I am ashamed of his acting?
Origin Of Captain America. My favorite thing about the film is it takes place during World War 2 and it has cool stuff in it. Steve Rogers aka Captain America fights in World War 2 and gets super bionic powers. Not to mention (SPOILER ALERT!) He gets frozen in ice and wakes up in 2011 to find himself in New York.
Really awlful Bad start for a film bad directing and little to no action. When his friend died there was no emotion just really bad acting. The movie never really explains itself just keeps moving. Skip this film.
Cant wait for the next one Super movie the villain was as expected Evil. Capt. America was great as the morphing 98lb. weakling to the muscular persona. The effects were great My Dad was Army Air Corps and stationed in Edinburgh rooming with a RAF pilot .I wish he could have seen this. He Was an older Dad who played Army with us kids. This thing won't let me rate it what's up .
This first look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Captain America serves as a great way to introduce the star-spangled man with a plan to new audiences. Chris Evans plays Steve Rogers, a humble, yet frail man who is genetically altered thanks to the Super Soldier Serum now in his system. Through solid performances from the supporting cast, great action sequences, an engaging main character, and a decent antagonist played by Hugo Weaving (Red Skull), Captain America: The First Avenger serves as one of the MCU's finest of Phase 1, up there with Iron Man and The Avengers.
Normally I don't like these comic book movies that keep popping up like Tribbles, but this was an exception. It was corny, but great. A nice flash back to America before we were over-run by democracy-hating immigrants.
***** Well, after years of wincing at the liberties that have been taken with some of my favorite heroes, this probably comes closer than any others, except for the Amazing Spiderman, for sheer accuracy, although I remember a bit more Nazi fighting before the skull came along, but what can one do in the length of a movie? I say five star performance all around, and a perfect choice in Chris Evans!
The Best I didn't want to watch the movie but my brother forced me to, and it is now one of my top 5 favorites! It includes a lot of well presented action scenes and of course a brilliant love story. The best thing about it is that he isn't just heroic because they made him strong, but because even before that he wanted nothing more than to protect everyone. Captain America is definitely my favorite Marvel hero :)
Compared to the others It's an average semi super hero film. Obviously part two looks to be fantastic, but this one is only so so as far as the story. The special effects that made him look skinny were just weird looking. On a side note, before Disney bought Marvel, all the new Marvel movies used to be $9.99 SD and $12.99 HD. But my rating is for the movie, NOT Disney's price hike.
Not the best one The acting overall is good, but directing job is not the best, and sometimes it feels like they used GoPros to film it, therefore, looks cheap and poorly edited. Otherwise, it's worth watching once. Wouldn't watch it again. The Winter Soldier looked much more finished and professional, and was much more enjoyable.
Dumb Who would watch this peice of trash it looks so fake captain america the winter soldier is better than this it all looked boring there acting was bad and that movie is about milatry no one wants to see a movie about milatry and i will say deadpool the movie is better
Loved this movie! Since I don't want to give away spoilers, I won't get into the plot. It's well scripted, acted, and you leave wanting more. I had the pleasure of 4 live, hour long interviews with Stan Lee a few years ago, and am glad he's finally getting the recognition he deserves. Excelsior!
The best of Marvel's Phase 1 movies I am told that this movie had everything going against it. A period piece with a corny hero. Was it a war movie? A superhero movie? The audience would never buy it Hollywood bigwigs thought. They were wrong. Chris Evans was perfect as Cap. Sincere. Good. Heroic. Believable. The action scenes were wonderful. The cast was superb.
A little slow on the get-go. While this film starts a little slowly, once the ball gets moving, its hard to stop it. An action-packed thriller from MARVEL. it's sequel is without doubt the better of the two but this is certainly worthy of 4/5 stars. I love the MARVEL cinematic universe. They are doing it all right.
Pretty good As the intro to the series, it does a good job. As a movie itself, slightly weak. The plot is tight enough to pack in all the key stuff, and director made it eye catching, but it's a waste on the hydra part since their weapon has been developed way advanced than the USA side. Multi shots of such a lethal weapon can even take down one man, whatever.
THEY FINALLY GOT CAPTAIN AMERICA RIGHT ON THE SILVER SCREEN! I love this movie and after growing up watching all the made for television movies and cheap B movie makes this picture hits the spot! Chris Evans performance has made him the movie goers choice as Captain America. GREAT JOB YOU GUYS OVER AT MARVEL!
