About this movie

Set in the near future, Frank, a retired cat burglar, has two grown kids who are concerned he can no longer live alone. They are tempted to place him in a nursing home until Frank's son chooses a different option: against the old man's wishes, he buys Frank a walking, talking humanoid robot programmed to improve his physical and mental health. What follows is an often hilarious and heartwarming story about finding friends and family in the most unexpected places. Starring an ensemble cast led by Academy Award nominee Frank Lengella (2008, Best Actor, Frost/Nixon), Academy Award Winner Susan Sarandon (1995, Best Actress, Dead Man Walking), Liv Tyler and James Marsden.

On a lighter note the story has great depth and mixture of drama and humor. What life could be like if robot assistants were pervasive in the near future. Also can be described as a creative evaluation of the conflict of the adoption of technology and the transformation it has on relationships, the potential benefits on our aging population, and the impact decisions have on history and memory. There is entertainment and lessons in Frank and Robot for the Luddite and the Technophile.

Very heart touching in its own way, original story (as far as I know), nice humor, never dull, good story, and etc. I could honestly add more comments but I am to lazy to. But it really is a nice story though.

Good idea poorly executed. I really like Frank Langella the Robot and Susan Sarandon in this but the rest of the cast were useless IMO I'd only recommend if you're a Frank Langella fan.
