About this movie

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman (Will Arnett) – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s (Zach Galifianakis) hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.

Sometimes even us adults need a little time with our heroes. This movie showed a different side of a hero that has been around for a long long time...a side that is darker and less caring. Only later we find out it is because of fear...imagine Batman being afraid of anything....but he is afraid of loving and losing those he lets in to his life. It was action packed, with a delightful end that sent a tear rolling down my cheek despite the fact it is a cartoon. I liked this movie very much and I would recommend it for a nice cheerup movie for an adult and I, myself would watch it again also.

I had high hopes for this movie, probably because The Lego Movie did so well and was genuinely funny and also, Will Arnett is voicing Batman. I like to think I have a pretty good sense of humor. I was picking up on the quick witted lines and I was laughing at the little bits and references that I knew would go right over a kid's head. With that being said, I found the movie to be slightly boring. It started off good, but once it hit the middle, I'm not really sure what happened. I'm not movie critic and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But I just thought I'd throw my thoughts in the hat just in case anyone was feeling skeptical about watching. I'm sure kids will 100% enjoy it no matter what, so if you're renting/buying for your kids, it's an A++.

This movie was fantastic on several levels. It's story, while not mind blowing, was engaging and set up all the jokes and gags nicely. (That was it's primary purpose after all). The acting and writing were superb; I only got .05% of the jokes and still had several good laughs. Oh yeah, and the animation really is gorgeous! I'll admit I did enjoy it more than the original Lego Movie (which was awesome). Many people are slamming this movie for it's cheesy ending. Go back and reread the title. This movie was made to be cheesy, to poke fun at our obsession with a rediculous adult male in tights.
