A almost predicated film that went unnoticed and unappreciated due to what one thinks or knows is going to ooccur. Still a great throw to modern Hitchcock lovers. I will watch it right now as a matter of...or is it? Not being cryptic I'm broke. sad

I liked how the slow pace of the movie can make a man question himself as to how he would act in a situation. I liked how the movie could make a man ask himself how he would tell his children not to engage in violence even at the risk of seeming hypocritical.

Four 1/2 stars really. I thought William Hurt's cartoony performance at the end weakened what was otherwise a near-great movie about identity, redemption and whether we can ever really leave the past behind--rounded up for Viggo Mortensen's perfect performance in the lead.
