JohnÍs latest predicament takes him all the way to Russia to track down his estranged son, Jack (Jai Courtney), who has been imprisoned in Moscow. But the mission takes a deadly turn as father and son must join forces to thwart a nuclear weapons heist that could trigger World War III!

By far the worst movie in the Die Hard franchise, and awful by any standard. Glib, charming John McClane is gone; instead we get a bitter old a-hole who ruins his far more capable son's promising career, and then goes around murdering half of Russia for the flimsiest of reasons. Part of what made the first Die Hards so good was that McClane was a mortal regular guy; he did crazy things because he had to, and he got hurt and injured as a result. Now he just literally jumps off high-rise buildings with no consequence. This movie is garbage, and a complete waste of your time and money. Jai Courtney was alright, though.

Escuché que Noam Murro fue elegido para dirigir y dijo: ¿el tipo que dirigió Smart People haciendo una película de acción? Ok, fue como cuando eligieron a Sam Mendes para dirigir SkyFall, preocupados y luego sorprendidos. Luego hizo que Skip Woods escribiera, lo cual fue un poco desconcertante porque él escribió Hitman (una adaptación VG decente pero no obstante inerte) pero luego escribió The A-Team que me devolvió la confianza. Pareció encajar hasta que Murro se fue y John Moore tomó el timón. Volví a preocuparme mucho porque dirigió dos remakes pobres, una película de acción decente (Behind Enemy Lines) y Max Payne. "¿No podrían haber puesto al timón a Joe Carnahan o Len Wiseman?" Lloré, pero aún creía que, dado que era Die Hard, sería increíble. Llegaron teasers, me sorprendió que se viera increíble. Llegó el tráiler y se emocionó aún más. Empecé a amar A Good Die to Die Hard incluso antes de verla. El debut de San Valentín me pareció perfecto como una gran carta de amor al cine de acción y tenía muchas ganas de verlo. Luego llegaron las críticas, negativas de todas partes. Lo compré y me decepcionó pero no horrible.

I love the first four Die Hards...this one is just bad. As a stand alone or as part of the series. The first few were gritty and balanced whit. The characters were fun and easy to relate to while meshing well with our "in the wrong place at the right time" hero John. Who had a reluctant but persistent drive to do the right thing. Was totally fun to watch. The current installment seems to have been written and directed by the same people responsible for the Expendables and their nonsense.
