About this movie

Travis (Johnny Orlando) and his sister, Whitney, visit their grandparents for the summer and stumble upon the evil plan of a greedy land developer (Kelsey Grammer) to steal the land of the town's longtime residents. While running from one of the developer's goons, Travis falls through a magical portal which transports him to the world of American hero Paul Bunyan (John Goodman) and his big, blue, talking ox, Babe (Jeff Foxworthy). Bunyan and Babe get wrapped up in a brand-new adventure, and with the help of their new friends, Travis and Whitney, they try to save the town. Together, they learn firsthand that you don't have to be big to do big things.

This movie was entertaining and fun to watch. It taught some lessons about not having to be big to accomplish something. Enjoyable for kids but also like it as an adult. They made good use of a story that was considered a tall tale. They brought it to life. The animation was extremely good. I loved the story and felt it is good when a lesson can be learned from a movie. I'd highly recommended for any age. Children in grade school would really like it. Travis found out he had a good time even though he didn't want to spend time with his grandparents in the country.

The Story was ok, Not great. Slow paced and the very dated and poor animation didn't help. The voice acting was good, but that's about the only thing. The jokes weren't funny, The characters were unrealistic. Some of the shots just lasted a little too long like something was suppose to be a joke or something was suppose to happen. I don't find this believable to be theater released in the future. This won't keep the kids entertained. They will get bored fast.

The actors and idea of the movie I enjoyed. The animation not so much. My primary beef with the movie though is the attack on the idea of fairy tales and capitalism. There was a primary theme of anti-greed which I agree with, but most of the film smacked of liberal fanaticism. Normally I wouldn't have mentioned anything but merely deleted the film. However, what struck me as odd was the free offer from Google of a film that seems bent on indoctrination. Not to the extent of Ice Age but indoctrination nonetheless. Thanks Google, but no thanks.
