As a children's movie, this film is acceptable entertainment; not much value in this for anyone older than 10. There's no Pixar-style adult-child crossover appeal. Despite a celebrity cast, the voice acting is terrible. The animation leaves much to be desired: facial expressions are forced or incoherent, physics and character movement are unnatural. Pop/Rock music is an odd choice for this genre. The plot as a whole is there, but details and explanation are thin. A high-budget children's space movie.

As a kid I loved it. My dad introduced it to me. But now as an adult, I realize some of the flaws. For one, the plot moves way too fast. Especially at the beginning, but overall as well. Not a lot of character development that actually makes me root for anyone. I'm giving it three stars because the idea is original and for the time, the animation was impressive. Mixing CGI and 2-D is hard, and in 2000 this was good enough to pass. I'd rather watch treasure planet than this though, because treasure planet is badass.

I have to agree with someone else, that this particular "enterprise" was particularly painful to re-watch. As the animation is sub-par, and brutally over acted, badly. It is something to watch, if you were bored and needed to have your sensibilities refreshed by watching something really schlocky. Even Bugs Bunny versus Marvin the Martian is more entertaining than this.
