So, I've watched this movie plenty. Special effects, great. Acting, great. Concept, eh, maybe if the sun suddenly and inexplicably started acting like a microwave, though the damage and catastrophes wouldn't have waited to occur on one day, there'd be signs all over through the years. However, I read a few reviews and I'm not surprised that the one thing that is blatantly clear and the most disturbing is not mentioned. Basically, the leaders of the world decided to save themselves and the rich and abandoned the population in it's entirety. Did not even tell them till it's happening. And how did they survive? On boats. Now, if you think about it, they could have built a lot more boats with the whole of civilization working on it. If they had told everyone, they could have suspended the need to pay for anything, and at least given people a chance no matter how slim. As entertaining as this movie is to watch, it bears a very bleak and disturbing message that many cheered on. It's actually a disgrace as it tells us that if things every got catastrophically bad, it would take an extreme amount of luck and confidence, not perseverance and strength, for any regular person to survive. That's the worst part about this movie.

I don't know what all those people are talking about, saying it's not good! Who cares if 2012 is already passed or they don't think it's "believable". They probably just sat there pointing out every tiny flaw. I personally thought this movie was amazing!!! Actually so good!! The plot was great and everything, and it was a truly remarkable movie with fantastic special effects! Although no exact date can be told for the end of the world and the mayan calendar had simply started a new cycle like our new year,

This movie doesn't believe that the Mayan Calendar is correct the Mayans predicted that it would be December 21, 2012... this say it happened over the summer because they said the London 2012 Olympics were cancelled. BAM. we win... but still a decent movie
