About this movie

Francis Ford Coppola's epic masterpiece features Marlon Brando in his Oscar ®-winning role as the patriarch of the Corleone family. Director Coppola paints a chilling portrait of the Sicilian clan's rise and near fall from power in America, masterfully balancing the story between the Corleone's family life and the ugly crime business in which they are engaged. Based on Mario Puzo's best-selling novel and featuring career-making performances by Al Pacino, James Cann and Robert Duvall, this searing and brilliant film garnered ten Academy Award® nominations, and won three including Best Picture of 1972.

This is my favorite movie of all time. The acting is as beautiful as the cinematics, and the characters are well developed and seemingly pulled right off the pages of the novel. The plot inspired many movies to come, and although the Godfather feel has been beaten to death, this film still manages to amaze me with its creation of a beautiful ambiance and the interactions of the characters in it. If you love the movie, then I highly suggest the book. It's even better!

Keep in mind that this is an old film so the so-called HD version (when streamed through YouTube) only goes up to 480p. I'm not entirely sure what options you have if you buy the SD version.
