Ok, hear me out. I'm a day one CHON fan, my review isn't of CHON as a band, I still think they're great! However, 'Homey' isn't. I respect the band for having the confidence and artistic freedom to make songs like 'Berry Streets', 'Nayhoo' and 'Feel This Way'. I like chill music as much as the next person, but sprinkling them over a technical/progressive album just doesn't gel. Now I understand why Drew left the band. Again, I enjoy the chill music, and as always I enjoy the more technical songs that CHON continues to pump out, but together they make an incoherent album, and my rating is a reflection of that.
Can't stop listening to this honestly. I have a vice for jazzy prog music and Chon definitely satisfy that. Love how everything sounds and feels different but it all has that warm vibe even the chill electronic songs which seem to more or less set up coming songs. Bass is turned up more this time around which is nice because it lends to the bounciness and fun tracks that Chon is known for playing. Sporadic drums but precise drums pair nice with Mario and Erik's guitar greatness. Just get it.
I just had to. The name's CHON. I need not say more
The tracks that don't have the word 'featuring' in the title are brilliant, the ones that do are difficult to endure at best.
Jumpy, what up man? Woof! (Just chillin boyy)
Chon is always putting out some amazing godly tunes. This album sounds like its gonna be my summer. Love it <3333
