Deathhammer is the eighth studio album by Dutch death-doom band Asphyx. The album was released on February 27, 2012 in Europe and February 28, 2012 in USA through Century Media. It's also the last studio album to feature founding member Bob Bagchus, who left from the band in order to spend more time with his family and replaced by Stefan Hüskens.
Severed Survival (20th Anniversary Edition)
Like An Everflowing Stream
Like an Ever Flowing Stream is the debut album by Swedish death metal band Dismember, released in May 1991. The title may refer to the Biblical Book of Amos 5:24, "Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream". A music video was made for the track "Soon to Be Dead". Since Karmageddon Records owns the rights to the album, it wasn't re-issued as a digipack disc in 2005 like every other album. Regain re-issued those digipack versions and also remastered the albums while Karmageddon released an exact copy of the 1996 issue by Nuclear Blast. Nicke Andersson, at the time the drummer in Entombed played all the lead guitars except for the guitar solo on "Override of the Overture", which is played by David Blomqvist. In 2010, the album was inducted into Decibel Magazine's Hall of Fame.
Spectrum of Death (Extended Edition)
Spectrum of Death is the debut album by American band Morbid Saint. It was recorded at Opus Recording in Gurnee, Illinois. It was produced by Eric Greif and engineered by Al Pangeliron. It is often hailed as one of the best thrash metal albums ever made, as well as one of the fastest and most abrasive in the genre; which led Morbid Saint being compared to other thrash metal bands like Kreator, Slayer, Sadus, and Demolition Hammer.
Testimony Of The Ancients
Testimony of the Ancients is the third album by the Dutch death metal band Pestilence, released in 1991 on Roadrunner Records.
Following the departure of former bassist/vocalist Martin VanDrunen, guitarist Patrick Mameli took over vocal duties. Mameli steered the band towards a more melodic and technical approach. The resulting concept album, Testimony of the Ancients contrasted brutal death metal riffs with melodic interludes and tackled what John Serba describes as, "strangely philosophical, and oddly compelling, subject matter". After each song on the album, there was an instrumental outro track. This attempt to push the boundaries of death metal, at a time when the scene was saturated with copycat "one track minded" bands, mirrored the efforts of fellow progressive bands Atheist and Death who released Unquestionable Presence and Human respectively in 1991, the same year as Testimony. The album can also be seen as a stepping stone on the way to the following Pestilence album Spheres, which departed still further from traditional death metal and headed towards jazz fusion.
Tara is the fourth album by black metal band Absu. It was released on May 23, 2001, by Osmose Productions. A remastered edition was supposed to come out in September 2007, but was delayed until March 2009. It contains the In the Eyes of Ioldánach EP as bonus tracks. Early promotional material for the album stated that Mike Scaccia of Rigor Mortis/Ministry fame would contribute to the album but that did not occur. In addition, King Diamond did contribute vocals to the album but could not be credited due to contractual restrictions. He is credited as Masthema Mazziqim, a pseudonym used by the singer of Dolmen, a band that eventually became Absu.
