The concert to the album was the best I thing I have ever witnessed. The music was great and they did an amazing job. They played Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) and I was surprised they didn't play Hold Me Tight Or Don't because my concert was 11 days before it came out. But I can not wait for thw album to arrive at my door!! I love Patrick, Joe, Andy, and Pete so much!! <3
In short , since it's release date I have listened to this album nonstop. I know it's a little of a departure from their earlier albums, but I love it for this reason. I've got their entire discography downloaded and arranged into one of my favorite playlists, and none of these tracks will be out of place in this playlist. Love this album till the end of the world. Thanks FOB for the joy you are bringing!
I've heard a lot of discourse over the songs on this album so far, and the entire thing hasn't even been released yet. I just want to say that I love the few songs that they have released so far. it's different than their old style, but it's still the band I grew up with. it's interesting to see them branch out into a newer style.
Love fall out boy and love their new sound! ❤️❤️the concert for this album was great! Saw it the day HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON'T was released and hoping to see them again in September for the last leg of the Mania tour!
The album is nowhere near as good as Folie à Deux or From Under the Cork Tree, but it's still worthy of a fair bit of merit. The Last Of The Real Ones, Bishops Knife Trick, and Church are particular highlights on M A N I A, though songs such as Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) and Sunshine Riptide could have been better in my opinion. That said, none of the songs are totally bad, and I can't think of any that I would want to skip without question whenever listening to the album. There doesn't seem to be one set genre (gospel influences seem to be used on Church, and EDM ones on Young And Menace), nor do they appear to have one main target audience. This makes all the songs clearly defined and the album not repetitive, though, so it doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as I expected it to. All in all, it's a good effort and a worthy enough addition to their discography, and I would recommend at least giving it a listen.
Everyone says they don't like their new sound, but I think it's totally amazing. This album is going to be the best of 2018, I know it. And to those who say it's different---that's the point. Fall Out Boy wouldn't the same as they are if they just did the same stuff every time. That's one of the things I love about this band, they're not afraid to shake things up, even if they know not all their older fan will like it. Honestly, I love this album. Seeing them in concert where they played three of the songs was the most incredible night of my life. Believe me when I say this album is an absolute masterpiece, and even if you don't like the sound of the first few songs, give the whole album a couple of listens. You won't regret it. And hey, if you still don't like it, that's fine. Just don't give up on them. Maybe their next album will be more you taste. Once more, this album is beautiful and I am so proud of Fall Out Boy and can't wait to play it on loop for everyone to hear.
