The album gained international recognition from the album's first single, "Never Be like You", which was nominated for Best Dance Recording.

Hi This Is Flume (Mixtape)
Hi This Is Flume is a mixtape by Australian electronic musician Flume. It was released on 20 March 2019 by Future Classic. The mixtape is Flume's latest release since Skin: The Remixes in 2017. Hi This Is Flume was announced on 19 March 2019, only days after Flume's documentary When Everything Was New was released to YouTube. Flume began working on the album away from the public eye from 2017, following his commercially successful album Skin and its world tour.
The mixtape is a more experimental record compared to Flume's previous work, and contains features from several of his favorite artists such as Slowthai, JPEGMAFIA and frequent collaborator Kučka, as well as guest production from HWLS, Sophie and Eprom. A remix of Sophie's "Is It Cold in the Water?" from her 2018 album Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides by Flume and Eprom is also included. An accompanying visual for the mixtape directed by Jonathan Zawada, who had also designed the artwork for Flume's album Skin, was released and premiered on YouTube on release day. The mixtape was released to positive reviews, with music critics complimenting its experimental style.

Upon release, Flume told Zane Lowe from Apple Music Beats 1 "This EP is us as a friendship, hanging out, just making tracks, having too many good songs and we're like, ‘We need to get these out into the world’, so we were like, 'Let's just do an EP.'"

Skin Companion EP II
Skin Companion EP 2 is an extended play by Australian electronic musician Flume. The four-track EP was written during the production of Flume's studio album, Skin, and was released digitally on 17 February 2017, by Future Classic as a companion to the album. The EP was released on vinyl on 5 May 2017.
Upon release, Flume said: "I'm really happy with how the Companion EP 2 has come out. There's so many tracks I've been wanting to get off my chest for so long now and I think it's kinda the end of the Skin kinda campaign and it's a nice way to end it because it's instrumental stuff, there's some vocal collabs... I'm just really proud of how it's turned out."
The EP features vocals from American rapper Pusha T, Moses Sumney, and Glass Animals frontman Dave Bayley.
