Every so often a fresh voice breaks through which has integrity, talent and resonance. For me Meg Myers stands head and shoulders above many of her (currently) more famous peers. I have given this album four stars because of two key tracks - Desire and Sorry. For me two excellent tracks that show real depth and emotion. It is the strength of these tracks that stand out. Other tracks on the album are strong in places, but not really in the same league. The musicality needs more adventure and embellishment, it is always the vocal that shines through. For example a sister song to Curbstomp would be very welcome. Desire, expresses love, lust, contradiction and pure carnal emotion. Sorry, reminds me of Sinead O'Connor at her very best. A bittersweet kiss-off with an ambiguous message. This is a debut album after a mini-album and some interesting singles, so it is to be hoped that with musical evolution and co-writers album two proper will be better still. I'm enjoying the best of Meg Myers' catalogue on a daily playlist, I look forward to more great tracks.
10 kinds of awesome! I had heard her two prior EPs and was anxiously waiting on her first full length album. I was not disappointed. She is about to be huge. @doughyramone
I love Meg's album and I think her music is wonderful to listen to and truly inspirational. I am very impressed with her style and her dedication to her work as a recording artist, singer, song writer and musician. I am very interested in her album and I think she has a great deal of fan loyalty which is clearly evident from her glowing reviews. Sorry is certainly an album to add to my digital collection. I think Meg Myers is tremendous and she inspires me in my own way as I am also a recording artist and although my genre of alternative/spoken word is far different than Meg's genre of rock/pop/alternative I certainly can learn a great deal from her. I admire and respect her tremendously. Love, Emily Iannielli of T-Girl Angel
Rarely does an album come around that is just satisfying from beginning to end. Sorry is definitely one of those where I simply love every song on the album and cannot get enough of it. From the first time I heard the single Desire a year ago, I've been enamored with her music and wholly recommend to anyone whom will listen to me to give her a try. There is a certain amount of raw emotion in each song that speaks to me personally and I think everyone can find a little bit of something in at least one song on this album to connect to, but I'm almost sure everyone will find more. I hope I get to see her live in concert soon as well, and that this is just the first taste of what Meg has to bring to us. Regardless she's made a fan of me.
Hits home Meg is such a great artist and her music is easy to relate to. Beautiful lyrics that get me through hard times.
Meg=Misbehaving and Endulging in Genius Her sound is so amazingly raw. Anyone with a heart or any form of sexual drive can relate!
