Learning to Crawl is the third studio album by the rock band the Pretenders. It was released in January 1984 after a hiatus during which band members James Honeyman-Scott and Pete Farndon died of drug overdoses.
After Farndon's dismissal from the band and Honeyman-Scott's death, Chrissie Hynde and Martin Chambers initially recruited Rockpile's Billy Bremner and Big Country's Tony Butler to fill in a caretaker line-up of the band in 1982. Bremner played guitar and Butler played bass on the band's September 1982 single "Back on the Chain Gang/My City Was Gone", both sides of which were later included on Learning to Crawl. As the album sessions got under way, Bremner, Graham Parker's bass player Andrew Bodnar, and Paul Carrack played guitar, bass and piano respectively for the track "Thin Line Between Love and Hate".
Finally, Robbie McIntosh and Malcolm Foster were recruited to join Hynde and Chambers, and the band was now officially a quartet. It was this line-up that recorded the rest of the tracks featured on Learning to Crawl.

The Fine Art of Surfacing was The Boomtown Rats' third album and contained the hit-single releases, "I Don't Like Mondays", "Diamond Smiles" and "Someone's Looking at You". The album peaked at No. 7 in the UK Albums Chart in 1979.
"I Don't Like Mondays" b/w "It's All the Rage" was released in July 1979 and reached No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart in late July in the UK in the same year. The song refers to Brenda Ann Spencer's killing spree on Monday, 29 January 1979 in San Diego, California.
Bob Geldof also went around America leading up to The Fine Art of Surfacing, drumming up publicity for the band in the United States. During this time the Rats learned much about both American life and breaking into the American music market. This is a recurring theme on the album, sometimes taking a serious approach in looking at American society, in songs like "I Don't Like Mondays" and "Diamond Smiles," while other times looking at it in a downright silly and mocking manner in songs like "Nothing Happened Today" and "Having My Picture Taken," the album takes aim at 1979 life in classic punk style.

Singles – 45's and Under is a compilation album by Squeeze, released on the A&M Records label on 22 October 1982. The album consists of all their singles from 1978 to 1982 in chronological order, with the exception of their second single, "Bang Bang", and includes a new song, "Annie Get Your Gun", which was released as a single ahead of the album. It was the band's biggest selling album, having been certified platinum in both the UK and the US.
The album included "Is That Love" and "Labelled With Love" produced by Elvis Costello and Roger Bechirian, "Tempted" produced by Elvis Costello and Roger Bechirian and featuring Elvis Costello on backing vocals, and "Black Coffee in Bed" which also featured Costello on backing vocals. Additionally, it included the US single version of "Goodbye Girl", which features slightly different lyrics from both the album and UK single versions. The US version of the album substituted "If I Didn't Love You" for "Labelled with Love".
More recent prints of the album are released by Universal under its 20th Century Masters banner.

All Four One is the RIAA Gold-certified third album by new wave band the Motels, released in 1982. It features the Top 10 hit "Only the Lonely", and the follow-up hit "Take The L". Both songs were assisted by popular MTV music videos. The Album was recorded and mixed digitally.

Alone is the tenth studio album by English-American rock band The Pretenders. The album was released on October 21, 2016, by BMG Rights Management.
Chrissie Hynde is the only member of the band to appear on the album, with the backing band consisting of session musicians. The album is the band's second consecutive album not to include drummer Martin Chambers.

Break Up the Concrete is the ninth studio album by rock group The Pretenders. It is their first studio album since Loose Screw in 2002. Several "exclusive" editions of the disc exist; each appends a new countrified version of a vintage Pretenders song, in keeping with the general sound of the album. The title song "Break Up the Concrete" was used in the opening scene of an episode of House M.D.
The first edition of Break Up the Concrete also includes a small sheet of "handmade seed paper", which can be planted, and if cared for, promise to sprout within a few weeks. The cover art parodies the sleeve of fellow power-popper Joe Jackon's 1979 debut Look Sharp!.

¡Viva El Amor! is the seventh studio album by the rock band The Pretenders, released in 1999. The band's lineup for the album is the same as that credited on 1994's Last of the Independents: Chrissie Hynde Martin Chambers, Andy Hobson and Adam Seymour. This time, however, the credited line-up actually plays on most of the album, although Hobson is replaced on bass by session musicians on a few cuts.
Viva, featuring a cover photograph of Hynde taken by friend Linda McCartney, saw moderate success in the United States and the United Kingdom. Its two lead singles were "Popstar" and "Human", the latter a Divinyls cover. The Class Mix of "Human" was used as the theme music to the short-lived American TV series Cupid as well as featuring in the soundtrack to Brenda Blethyn movie Saving Grace. Last of the Independents is the sixth album by rock group The Pretenders, released in 1994. For this album, the band is officially credited as being Chrissie Hynde, Adam Seymour, Andy Hobson and Martin Chambers. However, this line-up only plays together on one track; the rest of the album is performed by Hynde and Seymour in conjunction with a rotating series of musicians on bass and drums. These musicians include Hobson and Chambers, as well as bassists Andy Rourke, Tom Kelly and David Paton, and drummers Jimmy Copley and J.F.T. Hood. A few other session musicians also appear, including Ian Stanley, and one-time Pretenders guitarist Robbie McIntosh, who plays alongside Hynde and Seymour on "I'm a Mother".
The album also marked the official return of Chambers, who had been fired by Hynde eight years prior.
