Writing's On The Wall
Beautiful Not everything has to be 'a classic bond' theme song. This is 2015 and people put new twists on their music. You can't stop Sam Smith from having a different(beautiful) voice and trying to live up to the standards that people have I guess for a song. The song is suave and sleek just like I bet the movie will be. I think it would perfectly for James Bond.
Good lyrics, great sound, but...... The lyrics are pretty good and the sound I think matches the bond theme. I just don't think sam smith's voice is a good fit for the song though. I feel they should've gotten someone else with a more powerful voice and a wider range of vocals. Not saying sam smith isn't talented, he has a good voice. I just personally think his voice wasn't fit for this song.
Writing's on the wall Amazing talent sam smith, his range is perfection as an artist and he will only get better.BUT! In my opinion as a bond fan for 50 years, didn't hit the mark I was hoping for. Tom Jones thunderball, still kills it for me. STILL it's good and will be listened to a lot by loyal bond fans.
Song review Kind of surprised people don't like this song. I saw the film and when the music played in the beginning I was stunned by how well it went it Spectre. At first I was like eh about it but once I saw the song along with the film I think it made sense and I fell in love with it even more. Sam did a good job! I know I certainly wouldn't have been able to pull it off.
Dont like sam smith and not into his style of music in the least but i look forward to watching the intro for every new bond movie and i loved Spectre's! Beautiful song. Been listening to it weekly for the past few months.
As consumers we demand the highest quality and when not found we ask ourselves, “Why”?”, for which there is no answer but there can be comparisons to a better produced product. OK so many disliked this song and quickly compared this track to Adele’s recording of ‘Skyfall’ which I loved. Sam Smith IS NOT Adele and this track is not ‘Skyfall” both are so set apart in both vocals and arrangement to compare them is completely wrong. Ok, so I got that off my chest as you see I read EACH of the 1 - 3 star comments (I need a life) which prompted my response. Me, I liked this track BUT I do agree with most that the falsetto may have been relied on a bit much in this song. As a Bond song, yes, I feel is sits in there very well as a Bond song and if nominated for a Grammy or Oscar I would love to see it performed live. Great job Mr. Smith but I would have eased up on the falsetto usage.
