Sparkle is the 1998 self–titled debut album by American singer, Sparkle. It was released on May 20, 1998 through Interscope Records and was entirely produced by her former mentor R. Kelly. The album was a success in large part to the Sparkle-R. Kelly duet "Be Careful", which peaked at 3 on the Rhythmic Top 40 and 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay. The album itself peaked at 3 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold on December 7, 2000.

The Second Coming is the second studio album by American singer Adina Howard. While being her third studio album, it was actually the second album to be released in the United States and worldwide, thus the album title's reference.

"Nasty Grind" was released as the album's lead single and garnered notable airplay on Urban radio. The single's music video was inspired by D'Angelo's "Untitled". A second single "Outside" was planned, with a remix version premiering, but was later cancelled.
Two tracks from her 1997 shelved album, Welcome to Fantasy Island appear on this album, "T-Shirt & Panties" and "Crank Me Up".

Surrender is the only studio album by American contemporary R&B group Kut Klose. It was released on March 14, 1995 through Elektra Records and was mostly produced by the group's mentor, Keith Sweat. The album was met with mild commercial success, making it to three Billboard charts, peaking at number 66 on the Billboard 200.
Three singles were released from the album. "Lovely Thang" and "Surrender" both became minor hits on the R&B singles chart, while the album's lead single "I Like" went to 34 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the group's only top-40 hit.

'Bout It is the second studio album from contemporary R&B singer Jesse Powell, released September 8, 1998, via Silas Records. It was his first album to chart on the Billboard 200, peaking at #63.
Three singles were released from the album: "I Wasn't with It", "You" and "'Bout It, 'Bout It". "You" is Powell's only hit to date on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #10 in 1999.
The album was certified gold by the RIAA on June 8, 1999.

Coming off her successful debut for Interscope, Sparkle began to have creative differences with her former mentor and the album's producer, R. Kelly. The conflict resulted in Sparkle eventually being released from her contract and signing with Motown. However Told You So was a commercial disappointment, only making it to 121 on the Billboard 200 and 31 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums selling 104,000 copies to date. The album's lead single, "It's a Fact", was also a disappointment, only making it to 62 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks.
