Chinese children singing and swells of bass—there are certainly many worse combinations in music. The adorable sounds of the former come courtesy of the Yip’s Children’s Choir (Canada), a Toronto-based offshoot of a group operating in Hong Kong. Shanghai Restoration Project, a one-man enterprise responsible for retooling and modernizing traditional Chinese music, provides the background music. The results are both moving and cute, a mix fit for both kids and anyone looking to have their heartstrings pulled.
