I'm sorry Foo Fighters.😢 This was their worst album. I have LOVED every single other album by them. But this? Foo Fighters are my favorite band and I've been waiting 3 years for this. The ONLY good songs are "Run" (which is AMAZING!), and " The Sky is a Neighborhood" (also very good). The rest are garbage. I will not be purchasing this in physical format, as I had originally planned on doing. Now I have to wait another three years. Hopefully that one will be better. This album was more concrete than gold.
I dont know what this is, but it's definitely not Foo Fighters. The music is very boring and mellow. Some of the songs sounded like elevator music and made me feel like shopping for a training bra. The name of the album should have been, Wasting Time on Sonic Highways in Space While Tripping on Shrooms. That being said, I love Dave and those fighters of foo and wish nothing but the best for them.
A much less rushed effort by the Foo Fighters. T-Shirt sets the expectation of, let's just all sing a long. My favorites so far are: Make it Right, The sky is a neighborhood, Run, Sunday Rain, and Happy ever after.
This might become my favorite album so far. I'm sorry There Is Nothing Left To Lose, I still love you though.
Ended up purchasing physical cos I'm old school - and my OCD couldn't not continue to complete my Foo collection! If you think about the events that occurred whilst this was probably being written (RIP Lemmy) you can understand the 70's rock influences that are busting out of this album! On first listen through the contrast to previous albums caught me by surprise. On second (and subsequent) listenings, I was hooked. Its less 'stadium anthemy' / 'sing along', but it is definitive Foo, and its 100% rock and roll to its core - which is what we've come to expect from the last 20 odd years!
Great album. Love how the albums evolve from eachother and you grow with the band. Make It Right bass line is amazing. My only draw back is it seems to miss the rawness of Wasting Light.
