Review from Esther Oluwatunmise
I have admired Sampha for quite sometime now. All his work with SBTRKT speaks for itself. This debut is emotionally packed, deep lyrically and out of the norm, which is what I like the most about his work. Thus far this is the album of the year in my opinon. This album does everyrhing music is suppose to do and that is evoke feelings whether they be good or bad ones. A modern day masterpiece. I really feel this debut is deserving of that title.
Sampha's tones melodies and song writing ability are unparalleled add that to the dope electro neo soul beats in the background and it's heaven the craftsmanship take this project to new levels of wavey I'm Literally in my room chilling in a state of mellow euphoria.
Having seen Sampha live and had the pleasure of meeting him last year, I couldn't wait for this album to come out. Sampha did not disappoint! Great album.
Sampha's lyrics and piano playing are amazing, I usually don't buy an album I might just buy a couple songs but I had to buy this one entirely. Every song on this album is a breath of fresh air and i truly recommend this. Though, if I had to pick, I'd say Blood on me is my favorite followed by plastic 100c
Discovered Sampha on Drake's album & thought he was very interesting. He had a different voice & style. Now that I've heard his album a few times I can say this is by far the best, most original R&B Soul music I've heard in years. Process is a MUST listen.
Musical perfection. An audio journey. Nothing less than an otherworldly display of talent in a variety of areas. Sampha is already a legend as far as I'm concerned.
