Often considered a less raunchy Ke$ha, Dev sets out to show that she's her own woman on her debut. Her ballsy attitude carries her sing-talk raps, while production duo The Cataracs set the electropop backdrop. Discovered on MySpace, Dev's known for breakout hits "Booty Bounce" and her first official single, "Bass Down Low." Heavy on AutoTune, The Night the Sun Came Up features similar club-ready sounds, including the single "In the Dark" and "Naked," a forbidden love duet with Enrique Iglesias made for dancing the night away. On the electro-party track "Lightspeed," Dev attempts to quiet her critics: "Fuck the haters, give me some love/ don't be so pretentious/ I fit gold like a dentist."
