I just discovered this singer. I haven't been to church in a minute. I am a spiritual person and this album just brings tears to my eyes, but in a good way. Reminded me of how my faith is what has gotten me thru many things. I just shared Look up Child with my child to hear. It's jus a beautiful album. Makes you reflect and just embrace life. Enjoy everyone!
I don't leave reviews often but Lauren Daigle is by far one of my favorite artists. She' s free to be her self(a lesson we all can learn from) & it permeates her music.I admire her passion for blending Love, honesty, and fun culture. May God continue to Bless her in every venture of her life:)
Meets me where I am in life Her rich tones and beautiful runs in her voice remind me of growing up around our family. My Grandpa playing piano and my Papa (dad) playing guitar and his 9 siblings and all my cousins hanging out at the jam sessions! Rachel in Ohio (I am a mountain girl at heart from Montana)
I am old school and prefer the early days of Christian rock and roll music because I feel a lot of the modern Christian music out there is just window dressing and what I term, "Hippity-hop at the Barber Shop" music with the same beat in every song, and quite frankly it nauseates me. However, Lauren Daigle's tunes are genuine and have rich meaning in them. I think this is because she has lived what she sings about and that is what is lacking today in this new Christian music era. I love, "How can it be, You Say and Look up Child. She is a true artist and sings from her soul and you can feel it. Her music will draw you too the Lord!
Honestly, this album is kinda boring. There just isn't that much variety, and unfortunately there's nothing particularly interesting either musically or lyrically that'll keep me coming back to this album. It's just power-ballad after power-ballad. It's a true slog to get through. There are a few bright spots in Still Rolling Stones, You Say, and Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, but that's about it. It isn't awful, it just isn't great either.
I personally love Lauren Daigle and cover a bunch if her songs. I also came upon another artist named Angelina Jewel, and her song speaks truth too. So go give it a listen!
