Baby Got Back (In the Style of Glee)
Jonathan Coulton is my hero! The Gandhi-esque way Mr. Coulton has handled this difficult time is an inspiration. Jonathan, please take the honor of being my first online music purchase. The fact that he's using the proceeds from sales of this remake and giving it to charity is even more awesome. Digital tip of the hat to you, my friend.
Nearly Indistinguishable Honestly, didn't like the original song until I heard this version. And then Glee rips off this version! Buying for the second time because he deserves the credit for his beautiful version! Also recommend any new listeners check out his album Thing A Week or Best. Concert. Ever.
JoCo is so incredibly talented... ...that he was able to build a machine to go *back in time* and release Glee's ripoff all the way back in *2005*! Simply amazing! And here we thought he just put out fantastic music! ;)
What's not to love!?! The cover rules, the artist is awesome, and he's raising awareness all over the place. As he himself said, "I don’t know how big this will get, but there’s a potential to make a lot of noise this way – imagine if this thing charts! And failing that, we will create some real world impact by raising a lot of money for two great causes that are directly related to the Glee brand. There’s your win-win." Do it up peeps! Buy buy buy!
Just like the version from Glee! And the Glee version was just like the original cover JoCo did. Johnathan Coulton was kind of upset. Glee didn't even change the lyrics where he put in his own name. So, he is re-releasing his original to raise money for charity.
Johnny C Wins Again It is really pretty amazing that Glee and Fox haven't totally conceded defeat here, and confessed. Not that all proceeds go to charity for this track. From Mr. Coulton: I’ve released this track as a single – it should be on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play eventually if it’s not already. It’s a cover of Glee’s cover of my cover of Sir Mix-a-Lot’s song, which is to say it’s EXACTLY THE SAME as my original version. I’m releasing this under the same Harry Fox license I used for the 2005 release, so Mix will get all the royalties due to him. I’ll donate the proceeds from all sales that happen between now and the end of February to two charities: The VH1 Save the Music Foundation, and The It Gets Better Project
