About the artist
After placing third on the fifth season of Canadian Idol in 2007, Carly Rae Jepsen released her debut album Tug of War in 2008, spawning two hit singles in Canada. Three years later, the super squeaky-clean singer released Curiosity, off of which came a catchy little tune called Call Me Maybe." Endorsed by tweets from Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, the overnight hit quickly became a worldwide phenomenon, rising to number one on the Billboard and Canadian Hot 100. In a twist of fate, teen pop poster boy Bieber took Carly Rae under his wing and signed her to his imprint Schoolboy Records. Jepsen's U.S. debut album, Kiss, was released in September, 2012.
