About the artist
His latest compilation, Stockton to Fullerton: The Early Songs of Danny Hauger (2013), features 35 songs recorded in various locales around California, including songs performed from San Rafael and the Central Valley down to Los Angeles and Orange County.
There are lots of acoustic themes, modern rock pop melodies, and reflective ballads that intertwine for a fusion of positive musical flow. Contrary to the polish of modern digital music, Hauger's uncut, all-at-once, and live recording style delivers the essence of live performance into recordings that create a singer/songwriter approach to music production without studio magic.
Danny has also written 1,000 articles, manages Communications for a non-profit organization, produces freelance media at Danny Hauger Podcasts (http://dannyhauger.podbean.com) (@DHXmusic on Twitter), and works in radio production for Angels Radio AM 830 KLAA, in Los Angeles, California.
From critic Bethany Marsh: "It's something you can listen to and relax with, recalling fond memories and drifting off to the tunes.
Hauger's style is a modern mix of modern, alternative, acoustic, and instrumental genres influenced by bands like the Gin Blossoms, Oasis, Guster, Ryan Adams, and Toad the Wet Sprocket. Hauger has played venues from the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz around the state to Stockton, Orange, Los Angeles, and Rosarito, Mexico. His acoustic led intuition for blending alternative and modern rock resonates with an energetic collection of reflection and thoughtfulness that makes for a unique one man show."
