De La Ghetto

Rafael Castillo, better known as "De La Ghetto" in the urban world, was born in New York City at the beginning of the 1980s and is a resident of Puerto Rico where he’s lived since his teens. Son of a Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother, this young artist and entrepreneur brings with him a deeply ingrained Latin culture which has impacted his original style of making music. Thanks to his bilingual education and influences from various musical styles predominant in American culture like Rap, hip-hop, Rock and Funk, De La Ghetto has established himself as the King of Spanish R & B and Hip Hop, showing great versatility to fuse these influences with Latin music, managing to implement new styles into Reggaeton (in its various forms) and Trap (musical style of South Atlanta, a growing trend among young Hispanics).

The artist, who celebrated 10 years of his career with a SOLD OUT concert at the prestigious Coliseo de Puerto Rico arena in November of 2015, leads the lists of popularity in social networks, and everyday more and more followers join his millions of fans around the world. He is credited with more than 75 songs including hits such as: “Ahí, Ahí, Ahí”, “Mírala”, “Excitándonos”, “Si Tú No Estas”, “Solo y Vacío”, “Es Difícil”, “Tú Te Imaginas”, “Jala Gatillo”, and “Quien Tiene más Flow”. In 2008 he released his first Studio album – Masacre Musicial and in 2013, Geezy Boyz; a "mix tape" which he released under his own record label, Latin Nation Entertainment. His recent successes include the subject "Dices" and "Fronteamos porque podemos", a song with Daddy Yankee, Yandel and Ñengo Flow. Also notable to mention is the success of his collaborations such as "Si Tú No Estas" with Nicky Jam, and others such as J Balvin, Arcangel, Wisin, Yandel, Cosculluela, Zion, Héctor “El Father”, Jowell & Randy, Cultura Profetica, Memphis Bleek, Tito “El Bambino”, Ivy Queen, RBD, Tego Calderón, Ñejo, Alexis & Fido, Plan B, Jking y Maximan, Jay Alvarez, Juelz Santana, Teddy Ryley, Mavado, Guelo Star, Alexandra, Carlos Vives, and Paulina Rubio.

The artist has enjoyed very successful support on his most recent music videos with more than 200 million views on his YouTube Channel for the videos of "Fronteamos porque podemos", “Dices”, and “La Ocasión”.

De La Ghetto, continues making his way to the international level and is currently on tour in countries like: Europe, Latin America, and the United States, reaffirming his spot as an international leader of a generation that is set firmly within the urban genre.

To add onto his triumphs, De La Ghetto ended 2016 in the best way possible attending the 17th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards in Las Vegas where his hit song, “Acércate”, was nominated as “Best Urban Song.”

As a businessman he is actively dedicated to composition and musical production, has his own independent record label, maintains his booking company and works on developing his own line of clothing and accessories. Soon he will launch a new studio album, including various genres and more important collaborations. Determined to stand firm in his "movement" ("Mi Movimiento" - name of the expected, upcoming production), De La Ghetto stays at the top of her musical career.
