Hicham Chahidi is a music composer and sound designer. Born in Agadir, city on the Atlantic coast in south Morocco where he listened to Moroccan traditional music, African music, Berber music, oriental music,..as well as to Elvis Presley songs (that he discovered when he was 15 years old), the Beatles Discovered thanks to a classmate, and Bob Marley who is a well-known singer throughout Africa.
In 1989, he moved to Belgium where he started sound engineer studies. He discovered the richness of Western music and especially loved symphonic music. The first time I listened to Beethoven's ninth symphony, it was in the early 90's, he had a shock, he was upset by this so generous composition, the dynamic richness, the harmonic possibilities, and the large palette of colors that a Symphonic orchestra can offer have seduced him forever.
During the same period, Hicham introduced himself to various Belgian jazz styles, he participate to several underground electronic music (especially House music), and thanks to the completed sound engineering studies, he acquired an experience and an understanding of the necessary tools for the creation and editing of sound materials, tools that he still uses in his own productions.
Today Hicham produces and composes music for audiovisual broadcasting. His work can be discovered from his royalty free music Library (Music Screen).
