Jason Campbell is a pop singer-songwriter and front man for east coast Canadian pub favourite Signal Hill. His 2015 solo debut, Missing Signals is a blend of highly polished Pop, Rock and Jazz with an R&B/Soul influence. Featured are top session musicians, Dean Parks (Michael Jackson), Cory Tetford (Crush), Kris MacFarlane (Great Big Sea) and Canadian Jazz legend, Chris Mitchell. His distinctive voice has an uncommon, extensive range in the traditional sense and in terms of influences, such as Sam Cooke, Tony Bennett, Chet Baker, Michael Jackson, Robert Plant, Elton John, Billy Joel and all four of the Beatles. So far Missing Signals has had 3 singles on the East Coast Countdown: 'I Wish' hit #1, 'Turn Up the Sunshine' to #5 and currently 'Wonderful' is rising from #9.
Jason's songs are written and arranged with careful precision and jazz sensibilities. He has a live band of 12 including the Blue Engine string quartet, a horn section lead by Chris Mitchell (saxophones & flute), Rick Waychesko (trumpet & Flugel), Danny Martin (trombone) and a rhythm section made up of Kim Dunn (Rita MacNeil), Jay Meadus (Signal Hill), groove king Rich Spurrell and his long time musical partner, heavy rocker David Caines. Live videos for each song on Missing Signals are slated for release on You Tube in addition to some epic covers such as Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir", masterfully executed by his rock orchestra.
