The Plaid Tongued Devils are a Canadian musical group. Their music combines Roma, Klezmer, Ska, Rock and Jazz.

Bob Snider is a Canadian singer/songwriter.
Snider grew up in Toronto and later moved to Bear River, Nova Scotia, Canada. Upon returning to Toronto in the 1980s, he befriended Bob Wiseman and other songwriters in the Toronto open stages at Fat Albert's coffee house. The Leslie Spit Treeo, Ron Sexsmith and Kyp Harness were notable friends. Bob Wiseman produced and arranged the debut record entitled You which garnered attention far and wide leading to a deal with EMI. A folk musician, Snider plays almost exclusively songs he has written himself, although notable exception was at the Bear River Reunion, where he played a cover of an old blues tune. Snider's songs have been covered by Ashley MacIsaac, Meryn Cadell and the Leslie Spit Treeo. Moxy Früvous has also covered Ash Hash on The 'b' Album. Over the years he could often be found busking in Toronto's Kensington Market district. In 2009, he relocated permanently to Bear River, Nova Scotia. His daughter, fabric artist/ designer Sarah Snider also lives there.

Zubot and Dawson were folk duo from Vancouver, Canada, that consisted of Jesse Zubot on fiddle and Steve Dawson on guitar. They played largely folk-inspired acoustic music and released three albums. They toured both North America and Europe. In 2003 they won a Juno award for the album Chicken Scratch.

Nathan are a Canadian alternative country band based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band released four albums and won several awards, including a 2008 Juno Award.

United Steel Workers of Montreal were a six-piece alternative country ensemble based in downtown Montreal, Quebec. The band members included Gern F, Felicity Hamer, Sean "Gus" Beauchamp, Matt Watson, Flipper Frumignac and Dylan Perron. The band draws on punk rock, bluegrass and country influences, and is part of a "citygrass" scene of alternative country musicians in Montreal.

Luke Doucet is a Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has written and performed as a solo artist and as a member of the indie rock band Veal and the folk rock band Whitehorse.
In 2006 and 2011, Doucet was nominated for Juno Awards in the Adult Alternative Album of the Year category for his albums, Broken and Steel City Trawler.

Jenny Whiteley is a Canadian country and folk singer-songwriter. She was a member of the band Heartbreak Hill, and released several solo albums of folk music. She has won two Juno Awards for her music.

Lester Quitzau is a Canadian folk and blues guitarist. Quitzau was born in Edmonton, Alberta.
In addition to his own albums, he also collaborates in the roots trio Tri-Continental with Bill Bourne and Madagascar Slim, and in a touring and recording partnership with folk-pop singer Mae Moore, to whom Quitzau is married.
