Irie Maffia is a Hungarian pop band formed in 2005. Their music is based on reggae and dancehall, which they blend with hip hop, funk and rock. The band also has a sound system formation, where András Kéri sings ragga lyrics on the reggae/dancehall riddims played by band leader Márton Élő and Gáspár Horváth from vinyl records.
Margaret Island, founded in 2013, is a Hungarian indie pop band, named after Margaret Island in Budapest. Their pop songs are combined with acoustic and folk elements. Their music is influenced by Mumford & Sons and Passenger. Their first album, Egyszer volt, was released in September 2015. The album includes the song Nem voltál jó, which was originally in English, Soak In Life, later translated to Hungarian by János Brody. They are currently signed to Gold Records. They performed as the interval act for the first heat for A Dal 2017, the national selection for Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, as well as the interval act for the second heat for A Dal 2018.
Quimby is an alternative rock band popular on the Hungarian music scene. Enjoying large crowds across the nation, they have had successes at music festivals such as the Sziget Festival. Together for over 25 years, the band has a large collection of studio albums and one live CD/DVD combo to their credit.
