Gabrielle Aplin

English singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin attracted the attention of several record labels after posting a selection of pop and indie acoustic covers (including tracks by Katy Perry, The Killers and Paramore) on YouTube. Her reinterpretation of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s ‘The Power of Love’ went to number one on the UK singles chart after appearing in the John Lewis Christmas TV ad campaign. Aplin wasn’t content with just covering other people’s work, however, and released three EPs of her own music showcasing a soulful folky sound influenced by Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Bon Iver, before her debut album, English Rain, in 2013.
