ROSE COUSINS grew up on a farm on the shores of Prince Edward Island, and now hails of Halifax, Nova Scotia. You can hear her distinct voice on three of her own award-winning albums - We Have Made A Spark (2012), The Send Off (2009), and If You Were For Me (2006) and several special release singles. You will also find her in collaborations with artists in Canada, the US, Ireland and beyond.
In the US, she's often regarded a "local" of Boston - resulting from her strong affinity for and ties to the songwriting community there. She made a short film called IF I SHOULD FALL BEHIND about it (www.rosecousins.com/film).
Her album WE HAVE MADE A SPARK just won a JUNO, was named to NPR's Top 10 Americana & Folk Albums of 2012, won 3 East Coast Music Awards, the Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Contemporary Singer, and was long-listed for the prestigious Polaris Prize in Canada. She's been recognized by CBC, The Globe & Mail, NOW, NPR, USA Today, Oprah Magazine, WFUV, WXPN and various other media outlets. Her music is often heard in films and on tv - her song "Go First" was recently featured on Grey's Anatomy.
