Higgs Boson

Named after an imaginary sub-atomic particle associated with the beginning of time, Higgs exploded onto the European jazz scene with a critically acclaimed album. Endorsed by Gus Dudgeon (Elton John, David Bowie) Higgs produced his first album entitled Leaving.

In 1995 Higgs put together a group of exceptional musicians for his self-named album and was the first project totally controlled by Higgs from composition through to final production, helped by Gareth Young, an internationally acclaimed pop producer and Jo Partridge guitarist on Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds. Inpired by the edges of science, the album comprises nine original compositions that are strikingly fresh and inventive, showcasing Higgs' diverse jazz, rock and classical influences.

Drums & Percussions - Tom Hooper (Grace Jones)

Guitar - Pete Claridge (David Cross Band)

Bass - Kevin Jefferies (Queen's Roger Taylor)

Sax - Rob Townsend (Steve Hackett)

Keyboards - Higgs Boson

Jazz Journal International, Keyboard Review, Rhythm Magazine, Guitar Techniques and The Mix are among publications giving Higgs' music great reviews, praising both the composition and execution of his music. Higgs' music has also featured on Humphrey Lyttleton's 'Best of Jazz on Record' show on BBC Radio 2 and has also been extensively played on network Radio and Television throughout the UK.

Higgs first CD album was a spectacular debut, technically dazzling, with state of the art production and an assemblage of top-notch players. Since that time, the Higgs Boson (aka the God Particle) of nuclear physics has been found, and Higgs Boson the musician has also come down to earth with a thoughtful and very accessible collection of tunes with his album entitled 'The Ordinary Club'.

"Simply brilliant!" - Stuart Epps (Led Zeppelin, George Harrison, Oasis)

"Higgs is a talented musician and composer. His keyboard and piano skills are amongst the most impressive I've seen in many years in the industry" - David Rogers (Village Mastering)

"Higgs is a Multi-talented composer / producer / pianist" - Brian Smith (Interspear Music)

Higgs' album 'Quantum Dance' is perhaps less thematical than his previous releases. However, the album does include some diverting contributions from other top-notch musicians which include Grammy nominated guitarist Luke Sullivant and virtuoso drummer Phil G (Mike Rutherford).
