Great magazine but the google play magazine app is really terrible. If you have not so good internet, you can't ever read the magazines, even if you download it to your device using the "download to device for offline reading" function, it still works 15 percent of the time. You have to essentially re-download a few kb's of the magazine every once and a while for no reason, and until that small amount of info is downloaded the entire magazine is a web loading screen. Google has made the laziest magazine app of all time in their drive to have a dumb flipboard style intro page and forgotten the actual magazine part of the equation, and the always connected cloud aspect of this completely misses the point of owning a magazine.
Publisher Greed...Yet again! Publisher Greed I'm all for paying someone for their product and work, but at 4.99 for a digital media that has virtual Zero reproduction costs? No materials, no print press, no packaging, no shipping, no shelf space? oh and No CD! and almost the same price as print? Until these publishers stop the money grab and start charging a fair price for digital media productions, I wont be buying.
Beginners only Terrible for experienced artists, the content is repetitive and not at all as informative as the front covers would suggest. I have subscribed for 3 years and never once revisited an article
Expensive $7 for a digital mag is ridiculous. Lower it to a fair price and you'd dramatically increase your sales and revenue. It's a no brainer.
Good Mag, Bad Price The magazine has value. The information contained is solid, entertaining and informative. But $7 per issue? I can buy a book for that. And the subscription cost doesn't do much to alleviate the financial burden. And I've read that the hardcopy edition of the magazine costs the same price, and comes with covermount items. So for everything we're not getting, the fact is, at $7 per issue or $70 per year, all that I can afford to do is pick and choose the issues I buy, and make them last several months to make the cost more fiscally reasonable. It's amazing really, all of the 5-star reviews this magazine got when it asked the well-rounded price of $3.99 per issue. Why'd they have to go and #%*$ it up?
Love it. Hey cry babies- 6 bucks is a great price for all of this content and all of the scene files. The digital version is more convenient- with google play i can get it anywhere. The issues cost up to 16 bucks at book stores... digital is a no brainer. If you can't afford 6 bucks a month, maybe you're doing CG wrong.
