$9.99 and issue really????? Great magazine but WOW I can buy the print version at the book store for $5.99!!! Why in the world does the Google Play store digital version cost $9.99 its a back issue no less shouldn't it be cheaper than a current issue!!!??? Oh well I guess I'll just read it at the local book store for free, at least until it goes out of buisness anyway. I like the ideal of magazines on my phone/tablet but the pricing for digital versions are insane. Lets see they create the magazing on a computer, then clear cut a forest to print it, destroy the ozone shipping it all over the world to the book stores for $5.99. And then sell the digital version they made anyway to make the print version, which cost almost nothing to ship/distribute over the internet for $9.99. Not to mention the digital version doesn't come with the any of extras the print versions sometimes do like CD/DVDs, posters...ect. that makes sense LOL.
It used to be good Ever since January 2015 this magazine has gotten progressively worse. The tabs are always boring, the reviews are just stupid, and there's a Warwick ad on every page
Bass Player Bottom Line? The best magazine with in- depth interviews with the most certified professional and the aspiring artists who give you personal experiences with the instrument of choice that I am so in love with, the foundation of songs and sound of life. 2ces and bottoms up;BTW, been a BP reader/subscriber for the past 17 years and I will be til the day I have passed away from the world with I copy of BP in my cold calloused fingere!
Why in the world would I pay for BP twice? Bass Player is, admittedly, my go-to music publication and freeing it from print-only would also free it from the confines of my bathroom, where the magazine invariably stays. But if other publications I subscribe to can offer print AND tablet versions on the same subscription account, then I see no reason why NewBay Media can't as well. The single star in the review isn't for the magazine, it's for NewBay's business model.
What about current subscribers? I have been a print Bass Player subscriber for over a decade and have been waiting for a digital version to be available on Google Play. What I can't seem to figure out is how to use my subscription on a mobile device without having to resubscribe for the ability to do so. I'm not interested in paying for separate subscriptions especially when digital issues are so costly. Where is the love for current subscribers?
