Digital subscription problems and no support **UPDATE I was finally able to register and subscribe 22 months after my first attempt to get the online version along with my print subscription. I was a couple months away from letting the subscription run out because of this issue. I've now renewed my subscription. Thank you for fixing the problem. ********************************************************* I am a print subscriber and should be able to get digital as part of my subscription according to the flyers they have mailed me. Unfortunately the play store isn't liking my credentials and bon appetite support doesn't exist beyond a person on the phone that can't do anything but direct you to email Google. Good luck with that. Their lack of support alone is pushing me to cancel my subscription to this otherwise good magazine.
Frustrated Candian Print Subscriber I've been exchanging emails with Bon Appetit for days as I can't get the app to convert my "print subscription" to digital. I even had one customer service rep suggest I contact iTunes (although I can't think of why Apple would support the Android app). The magazine subscription is available on Zinio but they won't convert me to that platform so I may be totally cancelling my print subscription and going after this via another digital service provider -- which is cheaper than the print subscription.
Great Except for the Price I love having this magazine accessible on my phone or computer so easily. It has great recipes, pictures and everything else that comes with it. My problem? It cost twice as much per month ($1.99) as the physical magazine for 12 ($1) month subscription, which you can add digital access to for every other major platform (iPad, Kindle, Nook) + access to archives for only $5 more for a total of $17. So for twice the price of a physical magazine without digital access or archives, I get less? Pricing needs to be standardized. Google needs to manage these partnerships a little better and publishers need to manage their subscribers expectations.
What a bad reader experience This is not designed for tablets but a PDF. Looks even worse on the phone so why? I have a print subscription, but you are making me pay again!!! I can get it free on the iPad. Don't waste your time
Not user friendly I have downloaded my magazines but am unable to read them. Pressing the 'read' button brings me back to the search option. Also my magazines are not listed in my magazines from the settings menu. Will delete and continue reading paper editions.
The fashion of food This is not one for the home cook. Sure there are some recipes thrown in but this publication is not about food. It is about a perceived culture of elegance surrounding food. Content covers what popular material to build a bar out of, restaurant decor, and modernizing restrooms. There were a whopping 84 pages of advertisements, many for off topic things like diamond rings and expensive cat food. There are far better food magazines out there.
