Excellent mag, weak app, cheaper elsewhere Superb magazine, but for some baffling reason this version is more expensive and has less functionality than the Zinio version. On Zinio, a 13 issue subscription is about a fiver cheaper, the mag itself is identical and the contents pages have hyperlinks. The only advantage of this version is the marginally smoother navigation, not enough to offset the shortfalls. So... why waste money? I'm glad this had a free trial - I'm cancelling & subscribing via Zinio instead. Until things change, it's the only option that makes sense.
At last! I've been messing with proxies trying to buy retro gamer but couldn't pay with my us cards, even bought play store credit to try to use it but that didn't work either. Then, almost hopeless tried on this one and it worked, so I'm glad to be an EDGE subscriber. Please, bring back issues to the play store, at a reasonable (ie, lower) cost and I'll be sure to grab quite a few.
Still the best consumer game mag While I'd argue the print magazine's square paper format doesn't transfer great to the 16:9 Android screen format, the Text Only mode makes this issue moot.
Rip off Joined when the subscription was £13.99 per year only to be told I'd be paying £27.99 after the free trial ended. Unsubscribe immediately. What a scam
The content itself is superb as can be expected from Edge and the newsstand integration means that the reading experience is catching up. If you haven't tried it in a while, give it a shot. I did because Zinio is apparently the more expensive option at the moment and sure am glad I gave google another chance.
Not available? Anyone know why I can see Edge but it is not available on my Nexus 7? Is it a device thing?
