Don't Waste Your Money on Marketing Hype. "Horse and Rider" is about marketing Pat and Linda Parelli and Clinton Anderson type horsemanship nonsense to gullible and naive horse lovers. If you really want to learn about horses spend your money on these books by Paul McGreevy, "Equitation Science" and "Equine Behavior". Both books will cost you about a seven years subscription to Horse and Rider and are so worth it because those books are based upon equine science and they will teach you about the real nature of horses and training. Those books are not beholden to advertisers like "Horse and Rider". "Horse and Rider" is about selling stuff to mindless consumers like most magazines.
Horse & Rider Great all around information from riding, training, feeding, shoeing, showing, hauling, dressing, health, upcoming events,sales,etc.,etc.,from professional experienced people in the industry. Great magazine recommended for all levels of horseman as we never stop learning and this magazine keeps even us professionals updated on various issues as the industry is always changing and coming out with new information. Multi- breed magazine based on western events.
Truly worth every cent! There are some of the best trainers in the industry sharing their knowledge and experience with those of us that care to go further in our own journeys with our equine partners. As a Quarter Horse owner, partner, friend, and competitor, I find the information invaluable in taking us as far as we want to go. Thank you so much for such a wonderful resource.
