Bought last month’s MRR and the Extra Code had expired, what's with that? I guess MRR doesn't allow you to see the past issues "Extra" content. No links work in the magazine it is like they just converted everything over to a jpeg to make the PDF cause the text even looks bad compared to other magazines when you zoom in. I have piles of the paper magazine in my layout room and thought I would again try them out as a digital format. I like seeing and reading about the layouts that others have created but MRR is not as willing as others I have seen with content quantity. Model Railroaders should check out Trackside Model Railroading or TSMRR for short. All the issues are packed with layout content. This month’s issue for an example has 40 plus images on the main layout and 25 for the other and they are all really big images too, they do not skimp out. They always do a video for each layout in their magazine, you just click on the video image and it launches their web page that has the HD video. Way easier to access all of the content for their magazine. They are not on Google play yet but I am glad to go to their site and get their copy there until they do.
Nothing extra This is nothing extra - the exact same thing as in the physical magazine, which wouldn't be a problem, except that you still have to pay a certain amount for the electronic version, even if you already have the paper subscription. Not to mention, this "video plus" thing is being pushed more and more, and has started including things that used to come with the normal subscription. It is very disappointing to see model railroader go in this direction.
Digital price the same as paper Well... the publisher must like pocketing extra money. Where is the discount for not paying for the paper, printing, postage? The work is already done. I don't mind paying for a digital version, but not full price!
Like the paper magazine better than E-publishing one. All books and magazines should stop E-publishing and go back to paper only as readers we will own a copy of the book/magazines for more time then computers will store the info; plus you can take paper to/into places you cannot with E-publishing. There are books an documents now are millions of years old that we can still read. Computers break and stop working. Think about that!
Why is everyone crying about this magazine? It is still the #2 model railroading magazine out there. The 2nd best model railroading magazine out there. I have Eve y issue since they started, it's refreshing to get it digitally. Thank You MRM.
Model Railroader Great ideas for making your own layout or just enjoying what others have created! As well as solutions you may need when designing your own layout.
