It's Ok Used to be a lot more intellectual and insightful before the British editor took over...the best features were cut and the best journalists were too. Just watch Rachel Maddow on MSNBC (biased, sure, but she actually uses facts and real sources unlike Hannity etc). If you desperately need a liberal mag, Mother Jones does a bimonthly spectacular job with their own magazine. And btw, if you don't think Romney is insecure, then explain why he won't release his taxes EVEN THOUGH HE SAID HE "PAID THEM AND PAID A LOT", but still thinks President Obama will somehow "exploit" them? What. The. Heck. And don't take it out on Newsweek people, after all, like Romney said, "Corporations are people, my friends" --- you might hurt their feelings :O

conservative not liberal As a subscriber now in 2012 I can say this is a right of center magazine. It leans more to the conservative point of views. It is not a neutral or independent magazine. The article titles seem to give the impressions that it's a liberal point of view. So some might think it's a liberal magazine by titles & covers alone. But after reading a few paragraphs you realize those are meant to be sarcastic or ironic. Another way to describe this magazine is through it's frequent authors and columnists. When MSNBC wants to bring on a conservative point of view they will usually invite a Newsweek columnist. Fox does not seem to ever invite them to but quotes their articles often as positive. It's disappointing to read because I'm always hoping for a balanced set of articles that present both sides of an issue so I can judge for myself. But most of their columnists are firmly on the conservative side of most issues; they make an attempt to give both sides but you can tell their 'hearts are not really in it.' So if you're a true independent you'll feel cheated at the end of most articles. The photography is good & they make an attempt to satisfy all readers.

Is this any way to treat a 40+ year subscriber? I started reading Newsweek in high school and purchased my own subscription when I moved away for college. No matter how dire my finances or how often I moved, I kept my subscription. It was with sadness that I received notice that Newsweek was going digital only but Daily Beast graciously offered to transfer my print subscription to the digital format. So, I immediately signed up, received my validation number and tried Zinio....no luck, Kindle for Android....nothing, Nook for Android....nada. They all errored out or returned some variation of "invalid login," even though I verified the validation number numerous times and carefully followed instructions on more than one device. I emailed Customer Service, explained the situation, and received a somewhat arrogant and non-responsive reply to the effect that "....thousands of readers are enjoying Newsweek's digital edition, the response has been overwhelming favorable, blah, blah...try following the instructions (dummy)" I suspect that the Google Play edition would work just fine but former print subscribers can't transfer remaining subscriptions to Google. So, after 43 years, Newsweek, you've lost this reader. Too bad....

Trashy content, unreliable service. Also, terrible pixel resolution. On my N7, text is grainy/blurry compared to magazine apps like Zinio; makes for unenjoyable reading. Subscription completely skipped last week, current issue was late--why read Newsweek a week too late? The language and content is just unbelievably embarrassing (its our Fox news). Every article is just uninformed, biased op-ed. I had the terrible misconception that this was simply an unbiased selection of pertinent weekly news. More stars if pixel resolution and content post-election improve dramatically.

Bye NewsWeek - after 30+ Yrs, Why? I have had NW subscription since 10th grade civics class when Iran-Iraq war started (1980). I renewed subscription while in college & then military. While at sea, everyone loved my Newsweek. Now I'm a 2nd class citizen like other reviewers have commented. Thus, I had to write to tell you ENUF! Why penalize me for subscribing during your old regime? I support Newsweek! You are pushing me away from reading current issues (its difficult). Please correct approach & fix subscrcription status. No 2nd class fix

Fantastic coverage without your Faux News "Spin" That which is opinion is labeled as such, but some people might get upset at facts that don't agree with their worldview. As far as the troll who mentioned the inability for "most liberals" to read, I'll just refer to the fact that liberal states do have a higher literacy rate than their conservative counterparts-- and states with a more "liberal lean" have a higher HS graduation rate. Newsweek is a fantastic bit of reading during your morning coffee to keep up with some of the prevalent issues of the time. They also, as the Romney cover shows, don't mind irritating those on the right by publishing factual information and educated opinion pieces. I hate to resort to it, but it's relevant: @Adam: U MAD BRO?

Diluted mainstream... Note reviewers blatant confirmation bias. Right-wingers always find liberals in the masthead. And they are ALWAYS looking for them. I don't mind a slant in either direction, as long as there is a commitment to TRUTH! Based on EVIDENCE, intellectual rigor and LOGIC. Too often, this commitment is missing. Newsweek covers what they cover well, but betray bias more by what stories they ignore. Newsweek is typically GOP-centric - corporate - burying stories that liberals might think are more important.

Best weekly world news publication in the world! So simple. If you are looking for a quality source of unbiased world news, you can't find a publication better than Newsweek. With weekly publications, top-notch writers, the most exclusive reporter access of any print publication, and so much more - quality never wavers from issue to issue and seems to be a common degree of excellence and integrity among the writers. There is just so very many qualities that allow Newsweek to maintain its status as the best. Consistently, Newsweek earns their #1 ranking, with none among the competition ever quite able to close the gap from the #2 spot and below. If you want a weekly source of unbiased world news, there's no easier choice to make than Newsweek.

There's nothing "New" about this... Contrary to "Popular" opinion, this magazine has no "Fresh" Or "New" viewpoints to it. It simply says everything that every other liberal magazine says. When it can't find a new way to bash anything Republican, it makes it up. And it (sad to say) makes up most of what it publishes. I wish I could rate it lower than one star.

That interruption came about due to HP dissing us paper users by being unresponsive, canceling paid subscriptions and having a process in place that pushed the limits of believability. The final straw/insult was their choice to imitate the paper layout. Bye.
