NOT 99 Cents! As of Sept 5th 2012, this digital copy is $8.99 USD! What the heck is going on? Some people are saying the mag is 99 cents, but it's not for most of us apparently! I would love to subscribe to this one, but not for $22 a year or $8.99 per digital issue! The store copy is cheaper at my local book store even after tax!
Blurry Text is, much to my dismay, blurry. This is remedied simply by zooming in. But who wants to do that? It's a real nuisance. This digital version needs some work. Until the problems are fixed, my rating will sit at 2 stars. For any of you wondering, I am using the Nexus 7. Perhaps it is not fully compatible?
As others have said. Text is unreadable unless you zoom in. Very annoying and time consuming to have to pinch to zoom every single page and then have to maneuver the page up and down as you read. I'm using a 7" tablet so it may be better or worse for others. Funny, text on all ad pages are crystal clear. I was expecting more from my first digital magazine subscription I hope all magazines don't have this issue. I may unsubscribe because of the quality. $1.99 an issue is still a steal IMO as the magazine costs about $10 locally. People complaining about the $8.99 price tag doesn't make sense to me subscribe for $1.99 and cancel anytime. I'm guessing you don't "own" the magazine with a subscription? Not sure if someone could clear that up for me that would be great. If I cancel subscription can I still view issues I had while subscribed?
Outrageously Overpriced Digital editions should always be cheaper then print! Even though content and ads are the same, there is NO physical edition! No ink, No paper. This is why magazines following the old business model are failing. Adapt or fail and get shut down or go bankrupt! This particular magazine is hemorrhaging money and people at the magazine are jumping ship to other business models, sad because at one time it was the best 360 gaming magazine out there for the USA. Maybe it is time they read the book, " Who Moved My Cheese?"
I want to love it it I own a print subscription to OXM and I believe I paid about the same price per year. I love it, have for years, but I have a issue with this digital version. First off its 8-10-12 and I bought the subscription thinking I would be able to read the Oct 12 issue. But all I can read is the Step 12 issue. Why is that? I received my print version of Oct 12 in the mail 3 days ago. If I can't get an online issue before snail mail I won't be continuing my subscription past the trial. Also why no interactivity?
Ridiculous price for back issues. On print, previous issues are not worth the price of the tree chopped for them, but here they're 9x their current offer price, almost 5x the monthly sub price! I'm sorry, but stupid, last century minded publishers need to realize how wrong they are. The mag would be a 4 star (5 is reserved for edge and just a few more), downgraded to 2 hoping to see a change in policy.
