I decided to check this out because the head of maximum pc is working on this now. I hope he has a few tricks up his sleeve because this magazine is pretty poor at the moment. Edit: 12/31/2015 - you know it's funny how the name of the magazine is PC World, but if you look at the preview pages, they are as follows: Facebook, some Toyota car, an iPad Pro review, a router, and the oldest Toshiba computer ever. Wtf...
What happens when you go totally digital So I have been a subscriber for PC World for years and now that they have gone totally digital, I cannot read the magazine. I downloaded this months issue and now all I get is "unknown error." Can't even figure out to try and reload. Give me a break. Shame on you PC World!
What to costly! What is the problem? I see people on the review pages saying that they are too costly. You have to be kidding me. These prices are nothing compared to what it used to be! I know many are trying to save money, but it still costs money to put this magazine out in this forum. I want the magazine to grow and that takes money. These prices are not bad at all.
No more print Pcworld is a great publication. But most recently they decided to do away with print. Disgusting decision. Upset and disappointed after i had signed a three year deal with them. It led me no choice but to cancel n get my refund. Sucks. Shame on u, Pcworld.
Ad Heavy Skimming through the content of this magazine I noticed a lot of ads. This prompted me to count the number of ads in this 107 page issue. There were 33 ads (there were actually a few more ads but I converted added half page ads together to come up with a number of full page ads) in the current issue! That is about 1/3 of the magazine. With so many advertisers you'd think they could lower the price of stubs to between 8 and 10 dollars a year. Content good but sub price/ad ratio rated 3 *'s in my book.
Gbye PC World. I have been a print subscriber for... well I think since they started printing... and I'm disappointed. All digital is a risky move and I don't think a good one. I'm all for saving trees but come on...there are more efficient ways to do so. How about we stop wiping our butts with pearly white new paper and require tp to be 100 % recycled??? Hmmm. Save the paper for important reasons...like magazines. I use them for resources and have kept them all this time. Will have to find another magazine that prints.
