Magazine wonderful System Sloppy I am a traveler so, I had hoped I could get magazines to go along with me to read on my travels. I love Saveur and the reproduction quality is wonderful yet it remains a very cumbersome affair. Each and every time I open the magazine I have to wait for it to download. I have tried to download it for permanent reference but that does not seem to be an option. Imagine yourself reading a magazine and taking 30 seconds to over a minute to turn each page and then have to repeat the process each and every time you want to read that same magazine. This was an experiment for me and I will be going back to print magazines after this disappointmenmt
Good to see an app version Saveur! But I'll wait until my Zinio sub runs out to try. The ad suggested a free to try issue, but don't need to pay again for another helping of donuts.
Recipe Mistakes / No Response I generally like Saveur but last year's Saveur 100 had at least three recipes with unmistakable mistakes. I wrote the editors, explained the glaring and significant typos, and never heard back. And, no corrections in subsequent issues. I didn't renew subscription. James Russell
Enjoy Love this magazine! Always interesting & informative. Love the recipe ideas!
Pretentious and sloppy The Mexico issue is a joke. Masa harina? Canned beans? An "in depth" story on Diana Kennedy that takes barely two pages? Nice photos and attitude but as shallow as a TV commercial.
How does the monthly subscription work? Does it always bill you each month, even for the bi-monthly issues; meaning you get billed twice for one issue or does it only bill you for the month the issue went out/was published? I would love to get a sub, but I need to know how the subscription model works first.
