Cumbersome to read on my Windows 7 laptop and cannot download for offline reading. So I open it up on my Android tablet and it's a little easier to navigate and read, but still no offline reading or download. Windows version is unreadable. It zooms in, but wont scroll. Maybe it's better on an iPad or Win 10 or something. I much prefer the print version at this point. If you cant download it then it's essentially a website isnt it? Except it it difficult to navigate and hard to read.
Essential! Anyone that makes computer based music at home can benefit from this magazine. The articles are great, covering everything from the basics through to more technical tricks of well established artists. Reviews are very helpful, and new editions are always bang up to date with the latest toys. But the icing on the cake is without doubt the amazing free plug in suite and other quality freebies that come with every edition. The downloadable content alone is worth every penny, and major plug in developers provide special versions of some of their greatest products to CM. These, together with the superb tutorials including loads of video content cannot be found anywhere else, as far as I have seen.
Excellent Great magazine with excellent free plugins which are worth the price alone. Accessible for beginners, and experienced users alike. I have started mopping up back issues as well. Only slight drawback is it can lean towards dance music quite a bit while neglecting more traditional forms. All in all a great mag at a great price.
Good mag poor reader Love the mag but the reader interface is a disaster! Finding the issue I want and the page is a nightmare of sliding and clicking. Back to the hard copy for me. Electronic media should be searchable and accessable.
THE must-have mag for computer musicians. Nothing else quite like it, especially if you're mostly software-based, this is a must-read. The giveaways alone usually justify the cover price, especially the digital editions, but the contents will delight too. As the market leader the CM team are able to secure great software deals, whether CM special editions, or full-fat versions like Z3ta+ which are great for filling out your toolkit. The only one tiny niggle is the shrinking of the Freeware section in recent editions, so would like to see more of that, but a great publication in any case. UPDATE: I noticed that the Freeware section has expanded again in the last few editions, which is great.
Excellent! I can finally afford it! I've always loved CM but it was so costly...$12+/issue...Google makes it easy cheaper, no trees cut, dvds pressed, and a beautiful digital issue I can read at my DAW, nexus 7, phone or laptop... anywhere! This is fantastic!
