Review from A Google User
Lots of ads Content starts on page 14... And about 10 pages at the end are also ads as well in between the articles. I'd understand if it was a free magazine handed out in subway, but it's a paid one.
So many things wrong... I am a long-time print subscriber and thought it would be cool to switch. I don't need this to be free if I'm a print subscriber but there are just too many things wrong with the electronic version. The printing is so small, you have to zoom in and then you're panning around (ugh). [Feature Request: change font size]. Some of the text is so tiny that zooming in doesn't work that far and the text ends up blurry. [Feature Request: use higher resolution scanning when digitizing content]. Some images are landscape with the caption running vertically; when I turn the tablet to read the caption, the page rotates (ugh). [Feature Request: Magazine app should have option to disable auto-rotate]. I just got an offer to renew my print subscription for $15 and I get 4 additional issues (15 issues in total); the online rate is $15 for 11 issues. It's more expensive for an inferior product. This needs to change.
Yuck -take out all the ads plz Just picked up my first tablet, so naturally, I wanted to give digital magazines a shot. I was shocked to see the price equal to that of a print magazine, but I figured, "hey let's see if it's worth it." I was expecting really cool interactive technology like I would expect from free blog posts on simular subject matter... But instead I got a cap load advertisements. Full page, non interactive advertisements just like you get in the print version, but for some reason it's more annoying here.
What do the New York Times and Time Magazine have in common? What do the New York Times and Time Magazine, and many others have in common? Free access to the digital edition for all print subscribers. WHY does OP not follow suit? It is trying to alienate its print subscribers? Enough said. David Smith
Great Magazine, Questionable Format! I too am a subscriber to the printed form of this publication, but find no easily accessible copy in the digital format through this app. I'm believing that this may very well be by design, and intentional.
Free Digital Version?? Would be a solid 5 stars, but doesn't offer "free" if already subscribed to print magazine
Digital version of Outdoor Photographer I went to the site expecting a very large discount for the digital version because I to am a hard copy subscriber. A couple bucks to add this to what I already have would have been acceptable.
