Good but... Great mag at a great subscription price, however some pages appear to be missing/not loading correctly and stay black... Will see if I can find out what the problem is but if I can't I will be cancelling my subscription!
Missing one BIG trick In this new era of digital mags, I would expect a movie mag to be chokka full of trailers, scenes of movies, etc... This is so lazy as an effort. Just a mag on tablets or iPads is not enough. Far too many words on a screen do not make happy punters. Mags publishers if they do online versions should rethink what they put out. Printed pages do not work on screens. Because of the ads in there, you would also expect Hollywood studios to give some free dancing and singing extras, TF should insist upon these. It really is not difficult to achieve. It should all be part of the marketing.... The day all the above happens I will buy regularly, for the moment I will remain bored.
It's okay. I've always liked TF yet find the digital version disappointing. It's basically just a scan of the mag yet I would have expected a real digital edition (full screen, text reflow, hyperlinks for trailers etc) from a well renowned publication. Not that my lone opinion will carry too much weight but unless the game is upped, I won't let my yearly subscription roll over it's first year. People should demand a better product, else we'll never see it. On a side note, Total Film is an awesome magazine.
Great alternative I had doubts about digital magazines but can see me getting into it. I've been a big TF fan for years but found I couldn't find opportunities to read it as much these days but now I have it with me wherever I go. For those who don't like the idea of having to pan and zoom there is a nifty text view mode that presents articles as a web page with one main image and the rest of the text scrolling down the screen which is great tho if u keep this mode on you may miss side articles. I still really like it.
7" tablet too small I really tried to read two issues of this excellent magazine, but I could not get on with the formatting on the Nexus 7. I found that I had to zoom into the page to read the text, and then scroll round to try and follow the text flow. I think this is a missed opportunity - the table of contents could hyperlink to the stories, and the text could autofit to the page, but instead the app is just a series of pictures of the paper magazine layout - trying to read the 100 greatest heroes and villains was impossible. eMagazines have to be the future - a cheaper subscription than the paper edition and instant delivery, but for me, this needs more work. Shame - great magazine, I will subscribe again when I get a 10" tablet.
Total Film Great magazine but issues with the availability. Should be available on the same day as shop but sometimes have to wait 2 weeks meaning the information is sometimes out of date. Shame really as it's the best film magazine on the market.
8.9 out of game First I was so happy to see this! And then I realized that I have a wrong size of tablet. Shame :(
