Signature provides readers with unique points of view built atop a literary foundation. Our goal is simple: to make well-read sense of the world. We believe that books remain at the core of what educates and inspires us, and can be used to help us better grasp the world in which we live.
Whether the headlines of tomorrow are consumed by a financial crisis, a blockbusting movie, a scientific breakthrough, or an election, there are books steeped in those subjects to further your understanding of it all.
We want to bring those books to you, through essays, interviews, recommendations, opinion pieces, writing advice, and more. At Signature, you can expect to find provocative, thoughtful, well-informed original pieces by authors, journalists, experts, and lifelong readers.
Signature was founded in 2015 by Penguin Random House.
Overland – Australia’s only radical literary magazine – has been showcasing brilliant and progressive fiction, poetry, nonfiction and art since 1954. The magazine has published some of Australia’s most iconic voices, and continues to give space to underrepresented voices and brand-new literary talent every single day.
In 2017, Overland is a quarterly print journal (publishing essays, stories and poetry) and an online magazine, publishing nonfiction articles each week day. Overland also publishes special online editions of fiction and poetry, hosts events and debates, and runs a writing residency and a series of literary competitions.
Overland has a proud history of publishing dissenting articles and gives a voice to the experiences that are excluded from mainstream media and publishing outlets. The magazine has been part of an ongoing attempt to document lesser-known stories and histories, dissect media hysteria and dishonesty, debunk the populist hype of politicians, give a voice to those whose stories are otherwise marginalised, misrepresented or ignored, and point public debate in alternative directions.
curated cross-disciplinary interestingness spanning design, books, science, education, art, and a wealth in between.
