This series is one of the best adaptations of a book series I have seen. Right up there with Game of Thrones in my opinion (though obviously different type of story). I have thoroughly enjoyed the variations from the book medium. This is not always so when novels go from page to screen. The whole Outlander T.V. creative team has done a wonderful job. I applaud them just as Diana Gabaldon (author of the series) has done repeatedly. Like all readers I imagine the characters differently in my mind, but I so enjoy the actor's portrayals as well. T.V. "Jamie and Claire" are just as much fun to follow for me as their novel counterparts. I hope all who enjoy the show pick up Diana's books. Even if one is not a professed bookworm, I would highly recommend at least reading the first of the novels for which the T.V. series is named "Outlander."

I grew up with my grandmother in North Carolina. She was born in 1888 and her maiden name was RANKIN. The actor named Roger in the series Is Richard Rankin which is his mothers maiden name. I know my ancestry of Rankins and Glens as far back as Robert the Bruce whose natural daughter was Margaret de Bruce and married to a Glen. If this were to be of interest to him, there is a well documented book about the Rankins of the Carolinas. just might be fun for him. Check out Confederate Brigadier General Adam Rankin. He is a dead ringer for Richard. This show has brought all the research that I have done in my family to life. I understand their journey from Scotland to Ireland to America through Outlander. Many thanks. Anna Chambers , Belmont, NC

Checked this season out of local library system and must say I discovered how much I have missed this program and can hardly wait to see season 3. I am addicted to anything that is Celtic and 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th century. I cry for their losses and laugh at the funny things that happen. Hate when the villain seems to think that he has one up on Clair. I do not care for Frank. I know that they are not to mess with the future but, I think Clair could do far better with Jamie not only in the past but also in the future. Frank, in my opinion, could go by the wayside. Would I if could I go back to that time period and look for my ansescorcestors to see if there is anything that I could change for my life to be better? You have no idea how I how I do wish that I could. Now I must say this one thing, ever since I started with season 1 and Clair found the stones; I think the author forgot about more of the mythology of the Celtic people. Yup, I am a nut for mythology of any people and look for any reference to the early religious beliefs as well as any kind of folklore. I love the show. Wish producers of series would talk to Moning for a series.
