I think showrunner Jemaine Clement and his creative team (not to exclude Taika Waititi, who worked on it between other projects like Thor Ragnarok) have done a pretty spiffy job of reimagining WWDITS the indie feature film from New Zealand as a mainstream American TV series. The characters and story lines are darker and more savage, which fits a show that's set on Staten Island rather than Wellington, and like Flight of the Conchords it takes place in a New York City that will be much more familiar to people who've actually lived there on a limited income than those who've only seen it on TV or film (where, of course, it's more often than not Vancouver.) You probably won't make friends with Laszlo or Nadja or Nandor in the same way you may have with Viago and Vladislav, but if you find yourself missing them, don't worry, they've taken care of that too.

This is a great twist on the somewhat overdone vampire genre. The overarching plot has held up for me. The show is full of good acting with dead pan delivery, as well as subtle and dry humor. This is my new favorite show, so much so, that I've started watching for a second time. There are few shows that I will watch more than once! Love the music, too!
¡El espectáculo en sí es fantástico! ¡5 estrellas!
